As you can see, i have made good progress on the pop n play castle. I'd say you would never know it was a castle! There is still more painting and stone-work to be completed. Now, if you are not doing anything to the back, then you will be very close to finish. However, the back is the secret garden. so the stone-work needs its mortar lines painted in and the garden will be partially painted and silks glued on. and a pretty blue sky. so stay tuned for more How-To!!!
I have good weeks and bad weeks. This week is going to be a bad week for making great progresses. So, I interrupt the dollhouse project with this project. lol. I had every intention of working on mama helley's enchanted cottage but had just too many interruptions. And guess what arrived today?
The Pop N Play Castle which I am going to transform into a storybook cottage.
I am transforming this piece to use in place of a banner to advertise this new website at the next Maker Faire Detroit. But this project will also make a delightful, affordable and portable play structure for a little girl.
*Keep the transformation quick, simple and inexpensive
*Don't change anything unless it needs to be changed
*Use the original stone-work lines to create charming cottage stone
*Trim off excess castle style cardboard decorum
*Do not add anything that can't be folded back down and squashed back into the storage box it arrived in
*Glue gothic style cardboard windows in place and paint over it!!
*Add temporary and portable cardboard chandelier
*Add temporary and portable curtains (sheers?)
*Use soft, charming paint colors
Here is what I have done so far

I'm a maker and a thinker. I live in a magical world inside my head. To some, I am an artist. I am surely creative. And my creations change as quickly as my mood - so you never know what you're going to get.
