Ok, so my mad un-party will actually occur June 15, 2014. It will be in conjunction with the annual Hellebuyck hockey hoe-down.
I know what you are thinking! How do you mix a mad tea un-party with a hockey party? Well I can tell you, if you have ever seen this crew play roller hockey in the park- you will agree that it's completely mad!!!
So, at some point, the women and children will bore of the sweaty, obnoxious hockey activity and will have the opportunity to smash an album whilst sipping tea or coffee.
What's smashing you ask? Quite simple my dear. And it's just as mad. See why the two go together so we'll?! (Have a cuppa tea. You must have a cuppa tea!)
Smashing is a bit like scrap booking but no rules! Just smash it in there. And it doesn't even need to be a photo. However, I will be taking photos and on the half (hour), I will run home and print them. I will bring them back and voila! Instant mad memories!
Here's what I did. I purchased $50 worth of smashing supplies at michaels craft store. Divided the contents into two small bags. Out of consideration for Vanessa (a fanciful twist) I used her colors (hollyhock pink, hollyhock green, a dash of red and black).
*smash books already have fancy scrap book paper in them. Do not buy papers. They also have their own black marker and glue stick. Do not buy those things either.
* use the cheap stickers, stampers, glitter, ribbon, etc. - $1.50 or less
* purchase the clearance smash book $5
* one assortment of rubber stamp images will do
*micheals has a $1 spot. Get supplies from there if possible.
*suppliment with what you have. I already had tape, scissors (fancy too), black ink stamp pad, etc.
*dont forget a small pack of crayons for the wee ones! They will have the most fun smashing. And later, you will have the most fun discovering the adorable picture they smashed for you!!! ; )
